On the cinema release weekend of Star Wars episode VII 'The Force Awakens', in over 150 stores across the country, Carrefour has launched the campaign 'Star Wars at Carrefour', introducing an interactive billboard that used Kinect technology, enabling people to shop like only a true Jedi would.

Shoppers would browse through various categories of products, Star Wars toys and merchandise which they could add to a virtual shopping cart.
Once they were done, if they wanted to buy the products, the real shopping cart would wait for them at a special cash register at the nearby Carrefour Hypermarket. They received a shopping coupon and additional cosmic shells.

Additionally, certain purchases rewarded shoppers with collectible cards with characters from the 7 episode saga.
The fully integrated campaign was promoted across all media. Moreover, on the opening weekend of the movie, Carrefour surprised Star Wars fans and gave them the power they've always wanted: the Force.
