Viscofan's commitment to the sustainable management of the company has been endorsed by Sigma, a global leader in the food industry that produces, commercialises and distributes food through quality brands, including packaged meats, cheeses, yogurts and other refrigerated and frozen foods, which has sought to highlight the Viscofan Group from among its non-meat suppliers for its commitment to creating value among its stakeholders in the short, medium and long term without compromising the welfare of future generations.
Following an evaluation process in which the policies and management systems of approximately 300 non-meat suppliers have been analysed in six dimensions of sustainability, including occupational health and safety, anti-corruption, certifications, environment and the relationship with the community, Sigma wanted to distinguish the 'outstanding performance' of Viscofan, making it worthy of the recognition of suppliers Excellence Award 2020.
This recognition demonstrates the common objective of these two large food groups to contribute to improve the welfare of people and promote the economic, environmental, and social development of the communities in which both are present, throughout the production chain.
Gabriel Larrea, Chief Commercial Officer of Viscofan, shows appreciation for the recognition of Sigma 'that encourages us to continue working on sustainability as a fundamental axis of Viscofan's relationship with our customers and all our stakeholders with whom we regularly interact'.
