Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Ursula Gather is to join the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG. She will be delegated by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation for a period of five years and succeeds Dr. Ralf Nentwig, who is standing down from the Supervisory Board at the close of the Annual General Meeting on January 19, 2018. Dr. Nentwig has been a member of the board since 2013. The Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG thanks Dr. Nentwig for the good and trusting working relationship.

Dr. Lothar Steinebach's term of office ends at the close of this year's Annual General Meeting. He will be delegated by the Foundation for a further five years.

As the biggest individual shareholder with a shareholding of around 21%, the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation is entitled under the Articles of Association of thyssenkrupp AG to delegate two representatives to the codetermined Supervisory Board. Prof. Gather and Dr. Steinebach will be formally delegated to the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp AG by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation at the close of the Annual General Meeting on January 19, 2018.
