Thales has signed two contracts with the Santiago metro operator in Chile.
The first contract is for the supply and the second for the maintenance of line 7's Operations Control Center (OCC). The ten-year maintenance contract will come into force when testing begins.
Santiago's new metro line 7 will link the city from west to east, serving residents in the districts of Renca, Cerro Navia, Quinta Normal, Santiago, Providencia, Las Condes and Vitacura.
By cutting journey times in half, this project will make it easier for Chile's 1.569 million inhabitants to get around.
We have been supplying the command and control systems for all the lines currently in service for several decades, making us a strategic partner. said Jean Phillipe Le Nagard, General Manager, Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay), Thales.
