SLP continuously works to improve energy efficiency and environmentally certify properties in order to increase the net operating income and reduce the climate footprint. The work has been successful and exceeded expectations. Which, among other things, has resulted in SLP already reaching the goal of 50 percent environmentally certified area according to Miljöbyggnad iDrift Silver or equivalent, which was set for the end of 2025. The share of environmentally certified area at the end of 2023 was 25 percent.
As previously communicated, several of the sustainability goals set for 2025 have already been met. Earlier this year, the targets were reached regarding the proportion of sustainable loans to make up at least 70 percent of the total financing, and that installed power in solar cells should exceed 15 MW.
"It is very pleasing that we are already reaching another of the sustainability goals that we have set for the end of 2025. The fact that 50 percent of the rentable area is now environmentally certified is a direct result of the active work we are doing to improve sustainability performance in our property portfolio," says Tommy Åstrand, CEO of SLP.
SLP works with certification for new production and existing properties. Through environmental certification, buildings are quality assured by a third party who certifies that, among other things, the buildings have a low environmental and climate impact.
SLP's sustainability framework is revised every two years, thus new objectives will be adopted from 2025.
