Stellantis announced on Monday that it would be expanding its hydrogen fuel cell offering by launching in-house production of medium and large vans in Europe.

This industrial-scale launch of new large hydrogen fuel cell vans will complement its existing range of medium-sized hydrogen vans.

The range includes internal combustion engine, battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell and range-extender variants.

Stellantis brands' fuel cell vans offer a range of 400 km (for medium-sized vans) and 500 km (for large vans), with recharge times of between four and five minutes.

In the field of new technologies, Stellantis announced last week that it had acquired CloudMade's artificial intelligence system, machine learning models, intellectual property rights and patents.

The AI ecosystem created by CloudMade, with integrated graphical user interfaces, is considered the market benchmark for software and cloud development kits for automotive data collection and analysis.

44 CloudMade engineers and software developers are to join Stellantis as part of the deal.
