EVault Inc., a Seagate Company (NASDAQ:STX), today announced that the State of Wyoming Judicial Court System has implemented EVault® storage services to protect courtroom data and ensure its rapid recovery throughout the State, drastically reducing backup times by over 80 percent and increasing data protection.

The Wyoming Judicial Court System chose EVault to replace its remote backup services and protect 120 virtual and physical servers, including those housed at multiple remote branch locations. With EVault Software and EVault System Restore, the court system dramatically slashed daily backup times and expanded data protection statewide while using a fraction of the storage capacity it used previously.

"We wanted a system that would back up all our servers," said Sergio Gonzales, a network manager in the Wyoming district court system. "We were getting into some major IT projects and couldn't afford to lose data. The ease of use, cost and time savings, and reliability of EVault was compelling. EVault is light years ahead and does exactly what we were told it was going to do, protect our data and reduce our backup times."

Prior to implementing EVault, the backup process took four to six hours and the former software protected just eight to ten mail servers, proving too complex and costly to be fully implemented across the state. With EVault, nightly remote backups now take 45 minutes, an 80 percent improvement, and daily troubleshooting of backups has been eliminated.

"Now with EVault our backup capacity has drastically improved. In place of just ten servers, EVault software is used to protect 120 virtual and physical servers across the state," said Gonzales.

"The Wyoming Court System situation highlights the ever-expanding use cases for EVault backup and storage services," said Terry Cunningham, president and general manager at EVault. "It is a great example of how older remote backup solutions are struggling to meet the demands of IT departments with complex and expansive backup needs. Organizations like the Wyoming Judicial Branch recognize the benefits of a modern backup and recovery protection platform that's secure, efficient, comprehensive and easy to implement."
