i365 Inc., A Seagate Company (NASDAQ:STX), today named Terry Noonan as Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer. Noonan will lead the company's technology vision, architecture, and research and development, and will manage the company's SaaS infrastructure. The appointment comes on the heels of i365's growth in 2010, including the launch of several new product and channel initiatives such as EVault® for Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager and the newly introduced EVault Cloud-Connected Service Provider Program.

Noonan brings to i365 more than 20 years of experience in executive and senior technical positions in the software industry. Previously at Symantec Corporation, Noonan was CTO of the Security and Data Management Group, where he led a team that was responsible for the product strategy, technical direction, and business development activities of a $2 billion business unit. Prior to Symantec's acquisition of VERITAS Software Corporation, Noonan was CTO of the Data Management Group at VERITAS, responsible for the strategic direction of the data protection and archiving product lines. After leaving Symantec, Noonan went to NetApp, Inc. as VP and Chief Architect for the Data Protection and Retention group that was specifically focused on backup strategy. Most recently, Noonan was VP of Products at Shavlik Technologies, where he was responsible for research and development and product management.
