Sber has been among the first to introduce PCR tests to identify COVID as well as its strain. The first results revealed that the Omicron variant accounts for an average of 80% of positive PCR tests. On the back of this, Sber is strengthening the safety measures for its office employees. For instance, even though the team's heard immunity is high (95%), mandatory PCR tests will be introduced in Moscow Region and will have to be carried out at least once in seven days, whether or not a person is vaccinated. Furthermore, amid the high number of Omicron cases and the high contagiousness of the new variant, Sber is looking into sending more employees to work from home.

Stanislav Kuznetsov, deputy chairman of the Executive Board, Sberbank:

"The strengthening of barrier gestures is a forced necessity. By constantly controlling the health of the Sber team, we identifyCOVID-19 clusters fast and reduce the likelihood of the infection spreading further."
