Reliance Industries Limited reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was INR 2,035,790 million compared to INR 1,316,920 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 1,953,180 million compared to INR 1,284,500 million a year ago. Net income was INR 185,490 million compared to INR 131,010 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 23.79 compared to INR 20.51 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 23.52 compared to INR 20.12 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 28.08 compared to INR 20.33 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 27.76 compared to INR 19.93 a year ago.

Net income was INR 445,020 million compared to INR 359,010 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 63.68 compared to INR 48.14 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 62.66 compared to INR 47.45 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 68.01 compared to INR 55.65 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 66.93 compared to INR 54.86 a year ago.
Reliance Industries Ltd is a diversified group organized around 6 areas of activity:
- refining of petroleum products (58.4% of net sales): liquefied petroleum gas, propylene, naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, etc. At the end of March 2021, the group operated a refinery in India. The group also produces petrochemicals (polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyester, purified terephthalic acid, paraxylene, ethylene, olefins, benzene, butadiene, acrylonitrile and caustic soda);
- distribution of consumer products (28.3%): distribution of food products, clothing and accessories, consumer electronics, etc. through a network of 12,711 stores in India;

- exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas (0.3%);

- other (7.7%): telecommunications and media services, textile manufacturing, etc.
India accounts for 61.5% of net sales.
