Regency Centers Corporation (NYSE:REG) agreed to acquire two shopping centers for approximately $140 million on December 27, 2012. Uptown District was purchased on a wholly owned basis for $81.1 million. Regency Centers Corporation and its co-investment partner acquired Phillips Place for $55.4 million. As part of Phillips Place acquisition $44.5 million in debt was assumed. Regency paid $27.7 million for its share of the purchase price of Phillips Place. In a related transaction, Regency Centers and Columbia Regency Partners II LLC acquired Village Plaza from Ginn & Co., Inc. for $16.7 million. Regency Centers completed the acquisition of Uptown District on December 27, 2012.
