Chandra Asri Group Involves Culinary MSMEs to Open Stalls Inside

the Plant During Turn Around Maintenance Period

Cilegon, June 20, 2024 - PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), a leading chemical and infrastructure solutions company in Indonesia, involves 23 culinary MSMEs from Ciwandan District, Cilegon City, and Anyar District, Serang Regency, Banten to open stalls within the petrochemical plant during the scheduled plant maintenance period, known as Turn Around Maintenance (TAM), to provide food for the workers. The hygiene of the food and beverages sold is monitored by the Safety Health and Environment (SHE) team and the Clinic Doctors of Chandra Asri Group. This initiative by Chandra Asri Group is part of the company's contribution to improving the welfare of the local community and supporting MSMEs as one of the foundational pillars of Indonesia's economy.

Director of Legal, External Affairs, and Circular Economy, Edi Riva'i, stated, "As a growth partner for Indonesia, particularly in the Cilegon and Serang area, Chandra Asri Group supports the government's efforts to enhance MSMEs as a foundation for community economic empowerment. The company involves local community MSMEs to open stalls in plant area, providing various food alternatives especially for thousands of contractor workers during the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) process. This involvement of MSMEs is an effort by the company to participate in improving the economic standards of the local community by involving culinary MSMEs."

The MSMEs involved reported a significant increase in revenue and successfully established broader relationships through interactions among business operators. Henny, from Kp. Pangabuan, Kel. Gunung Sugih, one of the MSMEs, stated, "I am very happy with the opportunity to become the tenants provided by Chandra Asri Group within the plant area. My daily income increased by 250% compared to usual. Thank you to Chandra Asri Group for giving the local community this opportunity, allowing our income to increase and enabling us to have broader social relations."

Cut Mairoh from Grogol Indah Village, who sells drinks and instant food, also experienced significant benefits, said, "My revenue increased by 500-800% daily. This has had a tremendous impact on my family's economy, including supporting my children's education expenses. I am

grateful to Chandra Asri Group for this opportunity and hope to be involved again in the next TAM period."

Chandra Asri Group also supports MSMEs by integrating the circular economy concept and collaborating with the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) to assist their fostered MSMEs since 2022. Selected MSMEs can exchange plastic waste from their business activities or the surrounding environment for BBM Plas, which is produced by IPST ASARI, a Chandra Asri Group initiative. At IPST ASARI, the collected plastic waste is converted into fuel oil through the pyrolysis technique.
