On December 23, POSCO's World Premium Materials (WPM)-Magnesium Business Division held a seminar on magnesium technology at the POSCO Global R&D Center in Songdo, Incheon by inviting the winners of races of cars made by college students.

▶ On December 23, POSCO held a seminar on magnesium technology for college students who produced their own race car models, promoting industrial-academic exchanges and expanding possibilities of magnesium as an automobile material.

In attendance were students from Seoyeong, Jeonju and Gacheon Universities who won the Baja (off-road competition), Formula (on-road competition) and EV (electric vehicle) categories of the race as well as Handong University, Dankook University and the Korea University of Technology and Education. They exhibited their strong interest in magnesium as an automobile material.

Through this technical seminar, students made presentations on their own car development processes and exchanged technical information. The WPM-Magnesium Business Division also invited experts on the features of magnesium, molding, bonding, and surface treatment and have them explain solution technology and explore ways to apply magnesium to automobiles.

At the following briefing session, advisors to race car production teams and members of the event organizing committee had heated discussions under the theme of "applying magnesium, a new material, to automobile technology." POSCO is planning to steadily expand its technical support by collecting opinions from each university.
