Paychex, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended November 30, 2019. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was USD 990.7 million compared to USD 858.9 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 341.7 million compared to USD 307.2 million a year ago. Net income was USD 258.7 million compared to USD 235.8 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 0.72 compared to USD 0.66 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was USD 0.72 compared to USD 0.65 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was USD 1,982.7 million compared to USD 1,721.7 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 690.8 million compared to USD 627.5 million a year ago. Net income was USD 522.9 million compared to USD 479.4 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was USD 1.46 compared to USD 1.34 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was USD 1.45 compared to USD 1.33 a year ago.
Paychex, Inc. specializes in the development of integrated management software packages (ERP). The group also offers outsourcing services for small and mid-size companies. Net sales break down by activity sector as follows:
- payroll and human resources management solutions (74.5%): management solutions for payroll, internal accounting data, taxes, employee benefits, pensions, etc.;
- HR management solutions for professional employer organizations (23.5%): health insurance management, risk management and risk management, employee assistance schemes, etc.;
- fund management (2%).
All sales are in the United States.
