Nissan will invest GBP 26.5 million to produce electric vehicle (EV) batteries at its plant in Sunderland in the United Kingdom. The additional investment will secure 300 jobs at the lithium-ion battery plant. As part of the investment, Nissan is partnering with the Advanced Propulsion Centre as well as others including the University of Warwick, Newcastle University and Zero Carbon Futures as part of a GBP 19.4 million project to advance battery technology.
