Light S.A. announced that the Board of Directors approved the election for the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective from August 15, 2022 Mr. Octavio Cortes Pereira Lopes. Up to that date, Mr. Wilson Martins Poit will continue to perform his duties as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Octavio holds a degree in economics from the University of São Paulo and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

He has been a member of the Executive Board for Latin America since 2008. He has been CEO of Tok&Stok, a leading company in the Home & Decoration sector in Brazil, since September 2020, leading the company's digital transformation. He founded and is a former CEO of Equatorial Energia from 2004 to 2007.

During his tenure at Equatorial Energia, he was responsible for the successful financial and operational restructuring of its main subsidiary CEMAR, and its IPO in 2006. Between 2012 and 2017, Octavio was CEO of Magnesita Refratários and its successor Magnesita International. He has led the merger of Magnesita with RHI, the integration of the two companies, and the IPO in the London Stock Exchange of the combined company, RHI Magnesita, where he remained as interim CFO for one year.

He has held several positions at GP Investments, one of Brazil's leading private equity companies, from 1997 to 2012, including Partner and Managing Director. He has also served on the Board of Directors of several companies, including Light, Magnesita, RHI Magnesita, Equatorial Energia, CEMAR, San Antonio, Gafisa, Webmotors, and Submarino (now Americanas). With the effective tenure of Mr. Octavio, Mr. Wilson Martins Poit will step down as Interim Chief Executive Officer and return to the chairman position at the Company's Board of Directors.
