From the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Kopin® Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN) announced that Verizon Wireless and Kopin are demonstrating "Remote Video Expertise" capability of Golden-i Computing Headsets, utilizing Verizon's 4G LTE network, in the Verizon booth ( Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, Booth #30259).

Golden-i is a wireless cloud computing and communication headset providing a full PC experience that is operated by speech recognition and/or natural gestures. Golden-i with attached or wireless remote cameras can also provide real-time streaming video to both the operator and other participants, allowing them to see exactly the same image simultaneously. This combination of Golden-i's unique capabilities allows a technician, be they a utility pole repairman, an automobile assembly line worker or an emergency room nurse, to wirelessly access critical information over the Internet while also interacting with one or more off-site technicians or subject matter experts to solve the problem.

"In order for Golden-i to reach its true potential, it needs the power that Verizon's 4G LTE network provides," said Dr. John C.C. Fan, president and chief executive officer of Kopin. "The data handling capacity and exceptional signal strength of Verizon's 4G LTE service is critical for organizations focused on remote service, maintenance, medical services and public safety. We believe the CES presentation is the first time industry will see the vast benefits that collaborations between Verizon's 4G LTE and Kopin's Golden-i can offer to future productivity improvements."

Kopin Corporation's Golden-i has received the 2011 Product Innovation of the Year award from the Technical Service Industry Association (TSIA) and 2011 "Best in Show" award from World Future Society, and was selected as one of 10 Coolest Tech of the Year in 2011 by Scientific American and Top 100 Innovations to Watch by Popular Science. Golden-i Headset Development Kits are available for purchase ($2,500 each plus tax and shipping) at www.mygoldeni.com. Motorola Solutions Inc. is planning to introduce a ruggedized Golden-i product for industrial applications in 2012.

Verizon Wireless leads the way in with the largest 4G LTE and most reliable 4G network in the United States, which now covers more than 200 million people in 190 markets.
