SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) _ Juniper Networks Inc. (JNPR) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $132.9 million.

The Sunnyvale, California-based company said it had profit of 40 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 56 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 53 cents per share.

The computer network equipment maker posted revenue of $1.3 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.27 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $252.7 million, or 76 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $4.74 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Juniper expects its per-share earnings to range from 26 cents to 36 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.1 billion to $1.2 billion for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $1.14 billion.
