J&J announces that Biosense Webster - a J&J MedTech company and cardiac arrhythmia specialist - is launching version 8 of the CARTO 3 three-dimensional (3D) cardiac mapping system, used notably in cardiac ablation procedures.

The software includes new modules designed for greater efficiency, reproducibility and accuracy in catheter ablation procedures to treat patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and other arrhythmias.

We are delighted to announce this latest version of our CARTO 3 system, which reflects our ongoing commitment to harnessing the latest scientific and technological advances to advance the tools available to electro-physiologists to treat cardiac arrhythmias," said Jasmina Brooks, President of Biosense Webster.

According to her, this new version enhances the mapping and ablation experience through improved signal analysis, better substrate characterization and the use of ultrasound technology.'
