Grail announced that it has received $100 million in funding from Arch Venture Partners, L.P., Illumina Inc., Sutter Hill Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, LLC, and other investors.

Grail Bio announced that it received $100 million in series A round of equity funding led by new investors Illumina Inc. for $40 million, ARCH Venture Partners, L.P on January 10, 2016. The transaction also included participation from new investors Sutter Hill Ventures, Bezos Expeditions LLC, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates. Pursuant to the transaction; Illumina Inc. acquired a majority stake in the company's issued and outstanding share capital.

As part of the round, William Rastetter Chairman and Jay Flatley, Chief Executive Officer of Illumina Inc., Robert Nelsen, Managing Director and Co-Founder of ARCH Venture Partners joined the company's board of directors.
