Management Company IMH and its partner company Tulachermet-Steel signed a memorandum of understanding with Danieli for joint work on decarbonization of Tulachermet and Tula-Steel plants.

Both plants are located in Tula, a regional capital about 200 km south of Moscow, a historical center of metal and armory industries of Russia.

Tula-Steel produces 1.8 Mtpy of long products via the BOF route with liquid pig iron from Tulachermet blast furnaces, where 2,6 Mtpy of quality pig iron are produced.

The companies agreed to conduct research, identify and implement technologies that will support or improve economic performance, and positively affect the environment. The result of the work should be a list of technologically possible and economically feasible projects and initiatives for decarbonization of Tulachermet and Tula-Steel.

The memorandum will be valid for five years from the date of signing, December 22.
