NOTICE TO THE MARKET

São Paulo, January 17, 2023 - BRASKEM S.A. ("Braskem" or "Company") (B3: BRKM3, BRKM5 e BRKM6; NYSE: BAK; LATIBEX: XBRK) the largest polyolefins producer in the Americas, as well as a global market leader and pioneer producer of biopolymers on an industrial scale, through its subsidiary Braskem America, announces a project to evaluate an investment in producing carbon negative bio-based polypropylene ("PP") in the United States ("Project").

The Project will evaluate the use of an existing Braskem PP asset and will utilize Braskem's proven, proprietary technology to convert bioethanol into physically segregated bio-based PP. Braskem is exploring partnership opportunities for this Project with several clients, brand owners, and suppliers.

The Project intends to produce the world's first bio-based PP on an industrial scale to support Braskem's ambitious sustainability objectives and deliver tangible solutions to its clients. This Project is aligned with the following Braskem's goals: (i) carbon neutrality by 2050; (ii) diversify its feedstock base and expand industrial footprint; (iii) reinforce the global leadership in biopolymers to meet clients' needs; and (iv) further develop sustainable solutions in Circular Economy.

The investment execution is subject to the conclusion of the above-mentioned studies related to the Project and approval by competent governance bodies.
