BASF and Graphit Kropfmühl, a subsidiary of AMG Critical Materials N.V., have reached an agreement to reduce the carbon footprint of their products.

BASF will supply renewable energy certificates to Graphit Kropfmühl's plant in Hauzenberg, Germany, reducing the carbon footprint of the graphite produced by 25%. This graphite will be used by BASF to manufacture Neopor, an insulation material with a reduced carbon footprint.

'By deepening our collaboration with Graphit Kropfmühl, we are able to accelerate together the path towards net zero,' said Horatio Evers, Managing Director of BASF Renewable Energy GmbH.

As a reminder, BASF aims to achieve net CO2 emissions by 2050.
