BASF SE announced that shut down a facility at its chemicals production hub in Ludwigshafen, Germany, following a deflagration of adipic acid. The company announced that at around 09:10 hours local time there was a deflagration of adipic acid at an exhaust air filter at a plant, accompanied by a flash flame and a bang. There were no injuries but there was damage to an adjacent facility and to a storage facility.

The affected facility was shut down.
