LONDON, 12th June 2024: ASOS, the global fashion destination, has become the first online retailer to sign a legally binding agreement to support collective bargaining for workers in the garment and footwear sector in Cambodia.

The agreement forms part of ASOS' ongoing commitment to respecting and protecting the human rights of all workers in its supply chain under its Fashion with Integrity programme.

It has been signed between ASOS and IndustriALL Global Union, supported by ACT (Action, Collaboration, Transformation). Together with other agreements signed between brands and IndustriALL through ACT, it marks a significant milestone in the move towards the first-ever brand-supported collective bargaining agreement in the garment and footwear sector.

These agreements are key to supporting effective industry collaboration amongst all stakeholders across the value chain and demonstrate strong leadership by brands, employers, and unions in the sector. They are designed to meet human rights due diligence expectations on in-country outcomes, while also addressing brand obligations on meaningful stakeholder engagement.
