The WWDC developer conference is coming up again. There, Apple will present a lot of new features, devices and functions. What will no doubt play an important role there is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Even with the emojis.

Earlier this month, Mark Gurman, Apple insider at Bloomberg, announced that OpenAI and Apple were negotiating an integration of OpenAI on the company's devices.

How that will translate, we probably won't find out until the Worldwide Developers Conference. Still, Gurman (via Bloomberg) this week with a new scoop: Apple will integrate AI into iOS18 to let users create their own emojis.

AI emojis

Gurman reports that Apple is busy developing an application on the iPhone that will allow users to create personalized emojis thanks to generative AI. The AI-based emoji software will allow users to design their own emojis for any situation or occasion via a simple request.

Apple itself will also continue to add new emoji, but users can therefore do their own thing in addition. The AI feature is not the only novelty in iOS18. Earlier, Apple announced Vehicle Motion Cues and Eye Tracking. The software update will likely be available starting in September.
