Illinois American Water assists more than 1,000 Customers through H2O Help to Others Program Belleville, Ill., (Jan. 30, 2014) - In a partnership between Illinois American Water and the state's Salvation

Army agencies, more than 1,000 Illinois American Water residential customers received financial assistance in
2013 to help with payment of their water bills. The support came through H2O Help to Others Program, the company's customer assistance program, which is administered by local Salvation Army agencies.
The program, which originated in 1996, is supported by the company and Illinois American Water customers who voluntary make contributions through their water bill. In 2013, about $135,000 was disbursed to Illinois American Water customers who met the Salvation Army agencies' criteria. Information about the program and how to donate to it is included on Illinois American Water customer bills.
"Our H2O Help to Others Program plays an important role in our customer's lives who need assistance," said Karla Olson Teasley, president of Illinois American Water. "We understand challenges may arise for our customers. I want to thank our customers who voluntarily give to this program every month. They are making a difference."
