3. Decanting: The flocs formed by the action of the coagulating and flocculating agents sediment in tanks made of circular or rectangular form, obtaining at the top clarified water and extracting at the bottom a stream of sludges that contain solid floccules.

4. Filtration: The water obtained after decantation, is subjected to a filtration stage.

5. Disinfection: This is the most important stage since it must guarantee the elimination of pathogenic microorganisms that are responsible for a large number of diseases.

Stainless steel is a major player in this whole process, the pipes, filters, tanks, etc., which are used in these plants, are manufactured with this versatile metal. Its excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, besides its easy cleaning, aesthetic appearance , and that it is 100% recyclable, make it essential for this type of applications.

Aweco Indosteel Perkas PT carried out an engineering project for Cargill Indonesia, an international producer and supplier of food products, in the construction of its second starch and sweeteners plant in Cikande, West of Java, that includes, among others, the manufacturing of stainless steel water treatment tanks with AISI 304, AISI 304L and AISI 316L 2B finish, manufactured and supplied by Bahru Stainlesss Sdn Bhd.
