The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed. The loonie was trading 0.1% lower at C$1.3701 to the greenback, or 72.99 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3667 to 1.3705. Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 1.8 basis points to 3.404%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.3103%. U.S. July crude futures rose 17 cents to $74.24 a barrel on Thursday.
