The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed. The loonie was trading 0.1% lower at C$1.3517 to the greenback, or 73.98 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3481 to 1.3527. Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 3.5 basis points to 3.478%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.1267%. U.S. February crude futures rose 23 cents to $72.79 a barrel on Thursday.
