The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Friday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed. The loonie was trading 0.1% higher at C$1.3437 to the greenback, or 74.42 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3414 to 1.3466. Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 1.3 basis points to 3.565%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt were flat at 4.1715%. U.S. March crude futures rose 31 cents to $76.53 a barrel on Friday.
