ROPER BAR IRON ORE PROJECT - APPOINTMENT OF OFF TAKE PARTNER

Take partner.

The Directors of Western Desert Resources Limited (ASX: WDR) are pleased to advise that an agreement has been reached to appoint Noble Resources International Pte Ltd ("Noble") as WDR's Off Take partner for its 3 Mtpa Roper Bar Direct Shipping Ore ("DSO") Project.

The Off-Take Agreement ("OTA") provides that Noble shall purchase all product produced for up to five years from initial shipment which is expected in fourth quarter 2013. At either WDR's or Noble's discretion the OTA may be terminated on a change of control event. Otherwise the OTA shall be for all production for five years.

Noble is a global commodity trader, listed upon the Singapore Stock exchange.

In addition to purchasing all product, Noble has also agreed to provide WDR with a revolving credit facility for working capital.

Managing Director of WDR, Mr. Norm Gardner, said "WDR has received dozens of enquiries for Off Take over the last two years. After a competitive process WDR selected Noble. Apart from having a commercially compelling offer for WDR we have a strong belief that the people we have been dealing with at Noble are like minded and share our vision for the Roper Bar Project. WDR remains on schedule and on budget to deliver our first shipment of product under the OTA as previously advised to the market".

Development works at the Roper Bar Iron Ore project continue as scheduled, with first export of DSO expected in fourth quarter 2013. Photographs of current works are included below.

Background

The Roper Bar Iron Ore Province covers about 1,800 km2 within four granted exploration licenses in the Northern Territory and includes an estimated 100 km2 of outcrop of the target Sherwin Formation which hosts extensive hematite iron ore horizons. The Province is divided into two project areas - Roper Bar and Mountain Creek.
