Dr. Jan Utermarck to head Sales CIS / Middle East / Africa at Volkswagen Passenger Cars effective February 1, 2012
Wolfsburg, 18 January 2012 - Dr. Jan Utermarck (44), currently in charge of international coordination of the Volkswagen Group's genuine parts logistics network, has been appointed to head Sales CIS / Middle East / Africa at Volkswagen Passenger Cars effective February 1, 2012. In this function, Utermarck will report direct to the Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Christian Klingler. Utermarck succeeds Hans-Heiner Tüting (56), who was appointed Board Member for Marketing, Sales and Service at Volkswagen de México with effect from November 1, 2011.

Jan Utermarck joined the Volkswagen Group in 1996, initially taking responsibility for coordinating spare parts distribution projects. He headed operational genuine parts logistics at the master depot in Kassel from 2001 to 2003. Utermarck, who holds a doctorate in business administration, moved to the Group's Škoda brand in 2004, where he headed the global genuine parts and accessories business. From 2007, Utermarck took charge of the international coordination of the genuine parts launch process, and subsequently assumed responsibility for the international coordination of the Volkswagen Group's genuine parts logistics network in 2010.

Hans-Heiner Tüting has been with the Volkswagen Group for 32 years. Following various project assignments at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles he was placed in charge of commercial vehicle sales in 1995. Five years later he assumed responsibility for the Western Europe sales region, before becoming head of commercial vehicles sales and marketing in 2001. Tüting headed Sales Europe at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles from 2007 to 2008, becoming Head of Sales CIS / Middle East / Africa at Volkswagen Passenger Cars in 2008.
