DALLAS (AP) _ Veritex Holdings Inc. (VBTX) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $22.8 million.

The Dallas-based bank said it had earnings of 46 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 60 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $87.1 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $75.8 million, which also topped Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $73.9 million, or $1.48 per share. Revenue was reported as $313.1 million.

Veritex Holdings shares have risen 6% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $27.21, a fall of nearly 4% in the last 12 months.
