Veidekke is to build 51 flats with underground parking and a large communal, heated conservatory at Falkum in Skien for Bovieran AS and co-owner Skien Boligbyggelag. The contract is a design and build contract valued at NOK 163 million, excluding VAT. Bovieran's flat projects have a distinctive social profile aimed at a mature target group (50+).

In Sweden, more than 30 such projects have been built so far since they were first introduced in 2009. Veidekke has signed a national framework agreement on developing and building similar projects in Norway with Bovieran. Falkum in Skien is the first one in Norway, although new ones are being planned for Kristiansand, Hønefoss and Kongsvinger.

Bovieran Falkum will be sited in a rural location near Lundedalen in Skien. The flats will range in size from 54m to 84m, and residents will have access to a range of facilities and services such as lounges/seating groups, a workshop, storage rooms for sports equipment, and premises for hosting arrangements, with a kitchen, as well as the 1,400m conservatory with its trees, flowerbeds and year-round Mediterranean climate. Building work will start soon, with a planned construction period of 24 months.

The commission is included in Veidekke's order book for the fourth quarter of 2022.
