SeaWorld Entertainment announced changes in leadership on January 4, 2017, including the promotion of Jim Dean to the president of SeaWorld's Orlando parks and the hiring of a new top marketing executive. Dean, whose roots with the company extending back to its Anheuser-Busch days, will replace 42-year company veteran Donnie Mills on Jan. 16. Dean has been president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island since 2010. Mills started at Busch Gardens Tampa in 1974. He also has worked at SeaWorld San Diego and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. He took the top post for the Orlando parks in 2015. SeaWorld's new chief marketing officer, Denise Godreau, brings more than a decade of experience from Walt Disney World's parks. Boosting attendance will be among her goals. Godreau's resume includes strategies implemented to drive attendance and occupancy for theme parks, water parks and hotels for Walt Disney World Resort. Previously, she was part of a start-up team to create Brandman University in Southern California, a new online university. She also worked for international divisions of Procter & Gamble, Pizza Hut and Blockbuster Entertainment. Stewart Clark, who has been with SeaWorld since 1983, will replace Dean at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. He most recently was vice president for Discovery Cove and helped develop its interactive programs and animal exhibits.
