Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the town of Smyrna, Tennessee, for Tyler’s Brazos electronic citation application. The agreement includes software licenses, services and maintenance.

As a hand-held mobile solution, Brazos lets patrol officers in the field easily enter citation information that is automatically uploaded to the department’s central system.

By implementing the Brazos technology, Smyrna will reduce time spent on traffic stops and parking citations, increasing both officer and citizen safety. The technology will also allow the town to eliminate data entry errors on citations and in court and public safety records systems, while helping to maintain consistency and save time and money.

Smyrna is located about 20 miles southeast of Nashville and has approximately 43,000 residents.

Brazos, which is part of Tyler’s suite of public safety solutions, was acquired via Tyler’s purchase of Brazos Technology Corporation in early 2015.
