SUEZ REINFORCES ITS PRESENCE IN THE UNITED STATES WITH THE

ACQUISITION OF HERITAGE HILLS WATER AND SEWER SYSTEMS IN WESTCHESTER

COUNTY, NEW YORK

  • MORE THAN 500,000 PEOPLE SERVED IN FIVE NY COUNTIES

SUEZ announces that it has completed the acquisition of Heritage Hills Water Works Corporation and the Heritage Hills Sewage Works Corporation in Somers, NY in Westchester County for approximately €7,3 million. The transaction allows SUEZ to welcome 2,700 water customers and 2,900 sewer customers to the service territory. With this acquisition, SUEZ will serve more than 500,000 people through its owned and operated water systems in five New York counties, including 200,000 in Westchester, further expanding its activities in North America.

As part of this acquisition, the water system assets include five wells, one treatment plant and two storage tanks, and the sewage system consist of one treatment plant and two lift stations. The Group will also invest nearly €1.2 million in infrastructure to improve service, operations' safety and water quality. Under the terms of the agreement, SUEZ will leave the rates unchanged for Heritage Hills customers for three years. The Group is committed to exceptional customer service and environmental sustainability: to encourage conservation, customers will be eligible for rebates on water-saving devices (toilets, showerheads) and smart irrigation controllers. The New York State Public Service Commission, which regulates the state's water providers, will have regulatory oversight of the company's water operations, as well as the rate-setting process.

"The transaction is timely and brings many benefits to Heritage Hills residents," said Keith Sorensen, President of the Heritage Hills Companies. "As drinking water regulations become increasingly stringent, SUEZ' vast experience will help attain these higher water quality standards at a reasonable cost."

"We are thrilled to continue reinforcing the Group's presence in New York. As one of the world's leader in environmental services, we bring our expertise to ensure that the communities will meet increasingly stringent state and federal water regulations. Our top priority is to provide safe and reliable water service. SUEZ' planned investments in infrastructure will improve service, operations' safety and water quality. This acquisition reinforces our activities in North America, in line with the Group's strategic plan 'Shaping SUEZ 2030'." said Christophe Cros, Senior Executive VP Group in charge of the North America Region and President of Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS) Business Unit.
