Sporting's director of Football, Carlos Freitas, spoke briefly about Saturday's game against FC Porto after the League Cup game on Monday night.

"The game doesn't determine Sporting's season. We will obviously be looking for the win, but we aren't going to turn this game into a drama. Right now, we have the right conditions set out to get the win", said the Alvalade director, going on to talk about possible reinforcements for Domingos Paciência's side during the transfer window: "The only reinforcement that we have talked about up until now is Renato Neto. However, we have needs and we would like to address them efficiently."
