With a NextGen clash with Inter Milan just around the corner, the Official Sporting Website will be bringing you daily exclusives from Sporting's youth side.

On Friday we caught up with Rafael Veloso. The young goalkeeper guaranteed that his side is always looking to give 100% and revealed his pride in representing the Lions on the international stage.

What does it mean to play for Sporting in Europe?
Firstly it is a real honour for me to represent Sporting, but it is even better in a European competition. We want to show that we are a decent side, so we have to fight to do as best as we can.

Why is the NextGen Series so important?
It gives us visibility. In the NextGen Series we can show our worth and, at the same time, we can develop as footballers in what is a really high quality competition.

What would you say you have already done for Sporting?
I have stopped lots of teams from scoring (laughs). For Sporting I always do my best, no matter who we are facing.

What has been your most memorable moment so far in a Sporting shirt?
Winning the National Championship with our Juvenile team. It was a moment that I will never forget.

What do the fans mean to the team?
The fans are a great help. It is great to feel their support and together we can celebrate many more wins to come.

Why is the Sporting/Puma Academy so important?
It gives us all the conditions that we need to grow as athletes.
