The Lions were held to a goalless draw by Olhanense on matchday 16 of Liga Zon Sagres.

Domingos was forced into an unexpected change before kick-off, after Schaars picked up an injury in the warm up. The Alvalade boss gave the nod to Carriço in place of the Dutchman, with André Santos also starting in the midfield.

Both sides had their chances in the opening exchanges, with Matias and Cauê both coming close in the first quarter of an hour. Carillo was also looking restless down the flank and Capel was always going to threaten down the opposite side.

Jeffren was handed a role leading the Lions' attack for the evening, but it was Cauê who looked the most likely to find the back net, forcing Rui Patrício into a string of fine saves.

Olhanense bedded down for the second half under a string of Sporting attacks, but a lack of a clinical touch in front of goal constantly punished the Lions. Patrício was again called into action on 71 minutes, making a fine safe from the on loan Alvalade star, Wilson Eduardo.

Both sides had their chances in the dying stages, but the final touch proved too much for either side and the game ended in a deadlock.
