Burton based Spirit Pub Company has presented a cheque of £3,500 to the Queen's Hospital following a fundraising drive over Christmas.

The pub company, which owns three pubs in the Burton area including Flaming Grill pub the Corner House, raised the funds through various activities such as a Christmas raffle where gifts donated by suppliers were used as prizes.

The funds will now be used to purchase a much needed Oxygen Monitor and Mattress to regulate the temperature of the babies within the Neonatal Unit at the Queen's Hospital.

The fundraising activities were organised by Spirit's fun and fundraising group GRIN. The team works hard to create events and activities to bring employees together at Spirit's Support Centre.

Jason Radbourn, product development manager and GRIN member, said: "We worked hard over the festive period to encourage our teams to dig deep to support a good cause and they've more than exceeded our expectations!  We've also donated over £500 to Prostate Cancer UK through asking our teams to send e-cards to their suppliers."

Along with the cheque, Jason also took along a Two-Seater Soft Toy Plane manufactured by the Soft Brick Company, which will go to the Children's Ward.
