At the FIC 2018 forum, Sopra Steria - a European leader in digital transformation - and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Bretagne Sud (ENSIBS) engineering school are co-organising an Escape Challenge, supported by the Pôle d'excellence cyber* and in partnership with Amossys, Retis and Claranet. These partners will offer a variation of 'Capture The Flag' (CTF), creating a new challenge in the form of an escape game, using an original concept created by the ENSIBS 'P_TE Escape Game' team consisting of 2nd and 3rd-year ENSIBS cyber-defence engineering apprentices.
In this challenge, 16 teams of 4 participants each will face off against one other in a set of innovative challenges in two stages:
An Escape game on January 23 from 9am to 7pm, running in sessions of one hour per team, with tests covering technology (excluding IT) and social engineering
A Defend The Flag (DTF) game on January 23 from 8pm to 1am, covering various areas of cyber security.
The challenges have been developed by the ENSIBS 'P_TE Escape Game' team, along with Sopra Steria's top experts, themselves winners of many CTF and DTF challenges. A points system will be used to assess the best team.
'As active members of the French cyber security sector, all Escape Challenge partners are committed to skills development, which is one of the main areas of focus in this event. In this challenge, which is being run under the FIC 2018 banner - a major cyber security event - our goal is to identify the best talents,' explains Jean-Luc Gibernon, Cyber Security Director at Sopra Steria.
'The Escape Challenge - which we are organising along with Sopra Steria - poses a genuine technical challenge, but that's not all: it also gives participants an opportunity to immerse themselves fully in the world of CTF games and live a unique experience, ' adds Charles Préaux, Director of Cyber Defence Program at ENSIBS.

How to take part
Registration is open to both students and professionals, and will open on Friday, December 15, 2017. All participants will have a chance to demonstrate their talents in this innovative, enjoyable high-level challenge... space permitting!
Awards
The awards ceremony, hosted by Guillaume Poupard - the Director General of ANSSI - will be held on January 24th from 10am to 10.30 am.
