Somany Ceramics Limited announced unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company's net sales were INR 2,662.3 million against INR 2,164.6 million for the same period of last year. Profit from operations before other income, finance cost & exceptional items was INR 168.4 million against INR 117.5 million for the same period of last year. Profit from ordinary actives before tax was INR 120.8 million against INR 71.1 million for the same period of last year. Net profit for the period was INR 81.6 million or INR 2.37 per basic and diluted share against INR 47.3 million or INR 1.37 per basic and diluted share for the same period of last year. EBITDA was INR 223.6 million against INR 166.4 million for the same period last year.
For the nine months, the company's net sales were INR 7,571.4 million against INR 6,293.3 million for the same period of last year. Profit from operations before other income, finance cost & exceptional items was INR 458.8 million against INR 369.7 million for the same period of last year. Profit from ordinary actives before tax was INR 315.9 million against INR 231.6 million for the same period of last year. Net profit for the period was INR 214.5 million or INR 6.22 per basic and diluted share against INR 162.9 million or INR 4.72 per basic and diluted share for the same period of last year. EBITDA was INR 617.8 million against INR 511 million for the same period last year.
