Shell Trinidad and Tobago, a subsidiary of Shell, has announced its final investment decision (FID) in the Manatee project, an undeveloped gas field in the East Coast Marine Area (ECMA) of Trinidad and Tobago.

The project aims to strengthen Shell's integrated gas business and support the country's Atlantic liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant.

The Manatee field is scheduled to start production in 2027, with a planned maximum output of 104,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Zoë Yujnovich, Shell's Head of Integrated Gas and Upstream, emphasized that this project will meet the world's growing demand for natural gas, while meeting local energy needs and aligning with Shell's commitment to invest in competitive, low-emissions projects.
