FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spherion Corporation (NYSE: SFN) today announced that Rebecca Callahan, president of the company's SourceRight Solutions division, has been elected to the Human Resources Outsourcing Association's (HROA) Global Board of Trustees. In this new role, Callahan will join an exclusive group of internationally recognized HR and HRO leaders representing the talent acquisition community. Together with the esteemed trustees, Callahan will contribute to setting the agenda for the industry through research, benchmarking and development activities.

"I look forward to assuming a trustee position with such a widely recognized organization as the HROA," said Rebecca Callahan, president of SourceRight Solutions. "As an incoming trustee, I will be working with some of the top leaders in the human resources space to promote best practices and the highest standards for the industry."

Roy Krause, president and CEO of Spherion Corporation, added: "This appointment is a true testament to Rebecca's renowned reputation in the industry and SourceRight Solutions' track record of innovation in the recruitment space."

Callahan became president of SourceRight Solutions in October 2009 and assumed responsibility for combining the company's RPO services with its managed service programs and contractor compliance solutions. She previously served as senior vice president of RPO services at Spherion, where she successfully implemented a strategy that included international expansion, an enhanced value proposition, as well as a more flexible and scalable operating model. Under her leadership, SourceRight Solutions has received some of the highest accolades in the industry, including the top score for client satisfaction and service quality in HRO Today's 2009 'Baker's Dozen' ranking.

"Rebecca Callahan has been a shining light in the RPO community for many years and we are incredibly lucky to have her as a trustee of the HROA," said Richard Crespin, global executive director of HROA and president of SharedXpertise. "The HROA Board of Trustees has consistently led the way in helping HR perform and Rebecca will bring a much needed perspective in that forum representing not just SourceRight but the whole RPO industry."

She joined Spherion in 2003 as vice president of the Assessment Group, followed by a role as senior vice president of sales where she was instrumental in the development of the company's client acquisition strategy. She has more than 20 years of extensive sales and business operations experience in the services industry and has held senior sales positions at both private and publicly traded companies including Blue Pumpkin Software and PageNet.

Callahan is also a board member of the RPO Alliance, a special interest group of the HROA formed to address the need for unbiased, vendor-neutral information about the growing RPO industry. She has emerged as an industry leader by securing some of the larger and more innovative RPO engagements in the marketplace.
