Sasol Limited Group announced production and sales results for the six months ended December 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported saleable production of 18.9 million tons compared to 16.6 million tons a year ago. Natural gas - Canada production was 10.1 bscf compared to 10.6 bscf a year ago. Condensate - Canada production was 42.0 million bbl compared to 47.2 million bbl a year ago. Crude oil – Gabon production was 586 million bbl compared to 606 million bbl a year ago. Synfuels refined product (white product) Natref – production was 15.9 mm bbl compared to 15.8 mm bbl a year ago. ORYX GTL– production was 2.89 mm bbl compared to 2.78 mm bbl a year ago.

For the quarter, the company reported energy sales of 11.4 million tons compared to 11.7 million tons a year ago. Base Chemicals sales were 6.6 million tons compared to 6.9 million tons a year ago. International and other domestic sales were 1.7 million compared to 1.6 million tons a year ago.

The company provided earnings guidance for the six months ended December 31, 2017. The company's headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the six months ended December 31, 2017 are expected to increase by between 12% and 17% (approximating ZAR 1.81 to ZAR 2.57 per share) compared to the 2017 financial half year (prior period) HEPS of ZAR 15.12. Core HEPS are expected to increase by between 1% and 6% compared to the prior period CHEPS of ZAR 17.41.
