Safe at Sea and the Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the start of electrification of the their RescueRunner fleet. The LoI is an important step towards future emission-free rescue operations and it shows the mutual ambition to start the process for deliveries of the electric boat system ElEcoRunner. SSRS has a clear and outspoken strategy of reducing their environmental impact, and the implementation of RescueRunners with electric and emission-free powertrain, ElEcoRunners, will contribute to their environmental goals and strategy.

Safe at Sea and SSRS have cooperated in the development of the ElEcoRunner concept since the project started in 2019. The development of the ElEcoRunner is a joint initiative, to show how to make Search and Rescue and other important activities on water fossil-free, and to meet the great demand for small emission-free rescue boats.
