Trujillo, 6 January 2012- In a press conference held at the Libertador Hotel, Pilsen Trujillo announced the kick-off of the activities that the company will undertake as part of the 52nd National Marinera Contest, successfully organized by Club Libertad, which will take place from 16 to 19 January at the Trujillo Bullfighting Ring.

Among the main activities arranged by the firm in order to celebrate the contest's anniversary, the one which drew more attention was the presentation of the commemorative label, which will be available in the city stores from next Monday, 9 January, in honor of this special celebration.

"We wanted to pay tribute to the people of Trujillo by launching this special label for the festivities. It contains slight modifications inspired in the people's feelings during these days, full of celebration and joy. It also incorporates the chalán, as a reference to the Marinera dance and the National Marinera Contest," said Edwards Taboada, Director of Revenue and Regional Brands.

Pilsen Trujillo, as the main sponsor of this famous traditional contest since its inception and with the intention of taking the Marinera to every corner of Trujillo, will deploy several activities across the city, such as the new Marinera Bus, in which Marinera couples will perform live accompanied by a band.

The National Marinera Contest is the most anticipated event of the year thanks to its contestants. This year, the number of registered contestants from all over Peru is expected to be higher than in 2011. There will also be many Peruvians coming from other American and European countries who return year after year to be part of this contest.

Pilsen Trujillo, a favorite brand nationwide, highlights its local tradition with more than 90 years of brewing history, and also takes pride in being the official beer of the National Marinera Contest.
