Lower Bag Fees, Bigger Check-In Bags And Fewer Boarding Delays

Ryanair today (12 Jan) reminded customers that its new carry-on bag policy comes into force in just 3 days' time (from Mon Jan 15th) which will mean:

- Lower check-in bag fees (down from €/£35 to €/£25 per check-in bag)
- Bigger check-in bag allowances (up from 15kg to 20kg)
- 2 free carry-on bag allowance for all customers continues
- Non-priority customers can bring 2 free carry-on bags but will be required to put the bigger of the 2 bags in the hold - free of charge - at the boarding gate to avoid boarding delays and/or baggage offloads.

All customers traveling from Monday Jan 15th have been notified by email of the new carry-on bag policy.

Ryanair's Kenny Jacobs said:

'We are reminding customers that our new carry-on bag policy commences on Monday (15 Jan). This new policy is centred around lower checked bag fees and bigger bag allowances and we have notified by email all our customers traveling from Monday.

All Ryanair customers will still be free to bring 2 free carry-on bags but we will now ask non-priority customers to put their bigger bag in the hold - free of charge - in order to eliminate boarding delays and improve our industry leading on-time departures.

Ryanair has already introduced new reduced checked bag fees (from €/£35 to €/£25) and increased check-in bag sizes (from 15kg to 20kg) to encourage more customers to check in bags and reduce the number of customers with 2 bags at the boarding gates. We hope our customers will enjoy this new and simplified bag policy.'
